SSC GD Constable 2026 : Staff Selection Commission has released the SSC GD Constable 2026 notification for recruitment of Constable (GD) in CAPFs and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles. The exam will be conducted as an open competitive Computer Based Examination followed by PET/PST, medical examination and document verification. Applications are accepted only through online mode on the SSC website between 1st December 2025 and 31st December 2025. The posts are in pay level-3 with basic pay from ₹21,700 to ₹69,100.
Vacancies are notified force-wise and state/UT-wise, and include separate positions for male and female candidates along with reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and Ex-servicemen. For SSF, posts are filled on all-India basis, while for other CAPFs, vacancies are filled as per state/UT-wise allocation and special quota for border guarding and militancy/naxal affected districts. Final selection and force allocation will be based on normalized marks in the Computer Based Examination, NCC bonus marks, preferences of forces, and qualifying PET/PST and medical standards.

Eligibility & Qualification
- Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Education: Matriculation/10th class pass from a recognized board is required; details are given in eligibility section of the notice.
- Domicile: For CAPFs & Assam Rifles, candidates must submit domicile/permanent residence certificate of the state/UT mentioned in the online form at the time of DME/Document Verification; wrong or mismatched domicile will lead to cancellation.
Age Limit
- Age as on 01.01.2026: 18–23 years (born between 02.01.2003 and 01.01.2008).
- Upper age relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years.
- OBC: 3 years.
- Ex-servicemen: 3 years after deducting military service from actual age.
- Children/dependents of 1984 riots victims: 5 years (UR/EWS), 8 years (OBC), 10 years (SC/ST).

SSC GD Constable 2026 Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of the following stages:
- Computer Based Examination (CBE) conducted by SSC.
- Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) conducted by CAPFs.
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME) / Review Medical Examination (RME).
- Document Verification (DV).
Only candidates who qualify PST/PET and medical tests and whose documents are verified will be considered for final merit list. Final selection and force allocation are based on normalized CBE marks (plus NCC bonus marks, if applicable), category, state/UT, and preferences filled in the application form.

Computer Based Examination (CBE)
- Objective type multiple-choice questions conducted online.
- Language: English, Hindi and 13 regional languages (Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu).
- Sections generally include: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi (exact pattern with marks and duration is given in exam scheme section of notice).
- Negative marking and normalization rules apply; these marks (plus NCC bonus, if any) are used for final merit.
Physical Tests
